31 July 2025: Why clowning is Still the most important thing ever in actor training
In this online seminar, we welcomed clowning pedagogue Alex Bell. Alex is a trained actor and director with a focus on play and clown. He has worked at several drama schools around the UK, such as CSSD, East 15 and LAMDA, and was recently Head of Acting at North Herts College in Hitchin. His approach goes beyond mere comedy, focusing on how clown principles foster presence, authenticity, resilience, and a deep connection to the audience – all vital components for any successful actor.
